Both patronages are composed of ex officio members of the official sector, medical professionals, educators, businessmen and religious.<\/div><\/div> <!-- header --><\/div><\/div><div class=\"timeline-block\"><div class=\"timeline-dot\"><\/div><div class=\"ult-timeline-arrow\"><s><\/s><l><\/l><\/div><div class=\"timeline-icon-block\"><div class=\"ult-timeline-icon tl-icon-no-bg\" style=\"   \"><\/div> <!-- icon --><\/div><div class=\"timeline-header-block\" >\r\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"timeline-item-6195\" class=\"timeline-header\" style=\"\"><h3 class=\"ult-timeline-title ult-responsive\"  data-ultimate-target='#timeline-item-6195 .ult-timeline-title'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}'  style=\"\">July 24, 1999<\/h3><div class=\"ult-responsive timeline-item-spt\"  data-ultimate-target='#timeline-item-6195 .timeline-item-spt'  data-responsive-json-new='{\"font-size\":\"\",\"line-height\":\"\"}'  style=\"\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-24397\" style=\"margin-bottom: 20px;\" src=\"https:\/\/portal-hgps.azurewebsites.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/09\/hgps-historia-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"391\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The National Congress approved Law No.78-99 confirming the validity of both patronages, which was promulgated by the Executive Branch in the same year.<br \/>\n<\/div><\/div> <!-- header --><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section><!-- Row Backgrounds --><div class=\"upb_color\" data-bg-override=\"0\" data-bg-color=\"\" data-fadeout=\"\" data-fadeout-percentage=\"30\" data-parallax-content=\"\" data-parallax-content-sense=\"30\" data-row-effect-mobile-disable=\"true\" data-img-parallax-mobile-disable=\"true\" data-rtl=\"false\"  data-custom-vc-row=\"\"  data-vc=\"6.6.0\"  data-is_old_vc=\"\"  data-theme-support=\"\"   data-overlay=\"false\" data-overlay-color=\"\" data-overlay-pattern=\"\" data-overlay-pattern-opacity=\"\" data-overlay-pattern-size=\"\"    ><\/div><section class=\"l-section wpb_row height_medium\"><div class=\"l-section-h i-cf\"><div class=\"g-cols vc_row type_default valign_top\"><div class=\"vc_col-sm-12 wpb_column vc_column_container\"><div class=\"vc_column-inner\"><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><div class=\"wpb_text_column us_custom_f029a2ba\" ><div class=\"wpb_wrapper\"><p>Once the Board of the Hospital assumed its functions, it appointed the top managers of the organization, management and projection of the institution: General Director, Medical Director and Administrative Director. The organizational stage was completed in the six months set, delaying the opening of services in about two months due to emerging external circumstances. The Hospital was opened to the public on March 24, 1997.<\/p>\n<p>During this preparatory stage, the actions and expenses to be incurred were prioritized. The staff was gradually employed according to the progress of the organization and structuring of the different departments and services. For example, the maintenance, accounting and security personnel occupied a front position. The doctors, nurses, technicians and other health professionals were hired for a definite time of one year to be evaluated at the end of it, before the renewal of contracts. The salaries were optimized in relation to the work schedules to be fulfilled.<\/p>\n<p>The medical staff has been made up of specialists, sub-specialists and general or internal doctors, grouped in Departments: Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Obstetrics Gynecology, Gastroenterology and Endoscopy, Pediatrics, Teaching and Research, Traumatology and Orthopedics. The Special Services are: Diagnostic Imaging, Pathology, Geriatrics, Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Dentistry, Laboratory and Blood Bank, Cardiology, Onco Hematology, Ophthalmology, Breast Pathology, Emergencies, Primary Care, Nursing, Pharmacy, Food and Social Work .<br \/>\nIt is a simplified but functional structure, subject to gradual changes according to the complexity to be achieved by the Hospital when its services are expanded and diversified even further and the teaching and research activities are established. (Projection of Organigram).<\/p>\n<p>The Hospital has been conceived as a medical-care institution of the highest scientific level that can be offered in the country. The investments that have been made in its construction and equipment, and the presence of a body of trained medical specialists, most of them trained in important medical centers in America and Europe, guarantee the quality of patient care and define it as a center of national reference with international projection.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the Department of Social Work categorizes patients by making a socio-economic evaluation, tending to give effect to the principle of solidarity. When the category is indicated, the corresponding discount is set in descending order up to 40% of the established maximum rate for consultations, tests, procedures and assistance to the inpatient and outpatient. A special category is assigned to the patient who is destitute, who is exonerated from all payments. The principle of equity must be met in all cases, without detriment to the quality of care.<\/p>\n<p>A computer system for administrative management related to patients has been developed (admissions, dispensing of medicines and expendable material, billing and collections, among others). But it became essential to implement an integrated system that encompassed both administrative and essentially medical (clinical records, test reports and procedures, evolution of cases, appointments to patients, interconsultations, referrals, interfaces for clinical laboratory, as well as treatment of images and radiodiagnosis). In order to achieve this objective, the advice of experts in the field, both national and foreign, was sought and is now a remarkable reality.<\/p>\n<p>Every month the statistical and financial reports are prepared and presented to the consideration and scrutiny of the Board, copies of which are sent to the corresponding governmental authorities. The implementation of the integrated computer system, cited above, allows us to streamline the preparation of these reports, analyze costs per unit of production and, therefore, have specific data that serve to guide us towards better medical-administrative management and have the reliable basis for the elaboration of budgets and, in short, the development of an emblematic hospital corporation of the highest level of sanitary quality at the service of all Dominicans.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/section>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"La Plaza de la Salud se empez\u00f3 a construir a mediados del a\u00f1o 1995 Tanto las edificaciones, sus instalaciones y equipos adquiridos, fueron financiados con fondos del Estado Dominicano.
