Family and Community Medicine is conceived as a specialty for continuous care in health or illness, without distinction of group, age or gender, with a comprehensive approach to the family and with the ability to work as part of a health team, as well as a point of entry to other levels of health care.

Our purpose is to provide the country with specialized resources in the field of Family and Community Medicine according to national priorities in health and the implementation of the Dominican Social Security System with its Primary Care plans.

Duration: 3 years (36 months)

The graduate of this specialization program will be able to intervene in a timely, effective and quality way in the identification and management of the main acute situations that threaten the integrity of the individual and contribute to the reduction of mortality and the possible sequelae.

We also contribute to raising the quality of care in emergency situations and disasters, by having a human resource that has the scientific knowledge, skills, skills and competencies necessary for good performance, both at hospital and pre-hospital level or community.

Duration: 4 years (48 months)

The objective of this program is to make available to the country specialized resources in the field of Rehabilitation Medicine, with mastery of the generality of its discipline and adequately trained for quality care of epidemiologically prevalent injuries and disabilities, using a double clinical and functional approach.

The specialist doctor graduated from this program will have the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to solve the problems of diagnosis and medical treatment using diagnostic images as a fundamental tool.

It will be able to develop assistance, teaching, research and administrative management functions, inherent to the specialty of Radiology and Diagnostic Imaging. 

Duration: 4 years (48 months), the first year corresponds to Internal Medicine

This specialization program is aimed at pediatricians graduated from a training program with a minimum of three (3) years. During the development of the Study Plan, this resident doctor will acquire the necessary skills to recognize and manage the main conditions that can seriously affect the child.

With the training of this Sub-specialist, we contribute to improve the quality of pediatric patient care in critical condition, to the reduction of high mortality rates and sequelae recorded in childhood.

Duration: 3 years  (36 months)

The training of specialists in intensive polyvalent care of adults is aimed at doctors with a basic clinical specialty with a minimum of three (3) years of residence, preferably Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology and Emergency Medicine.

During their training the resident doctor will acquire the necessary knowledge to recognize and manage the main conditions that can seriously affect the individual.

Duration: 3 years (36 months)

This Residency Program is aimed at general practitioners with the aim of training them as specialists in general surgery, trained to perform the surgical procedures of this specialty, and also develop the skills that will allow you to perform surgical procedures of donation and organ and tissue transplants. , skills that will be developed during the five years of their training by participating in the procedures of this type carried out in the HGPS and strengthened during the last year of training through a rotation abroad in a volume unit.

Duration: 5 years (60 months).

The medical specialist graduated from this program will have all the necessary skills to practice as a surgeon with resolutive and practical capacity for the study and treatment of all diseases of the ears, nasal cavities, oropharynx and larynx, both clinical and surgical.

This Residency Program is aimed at general practitioners and will last for 5 years.

Duration: 5 years (60 months).

This specialization program is aimed at doctors with a specialty in general surgery, it is a training program with a minimum of four (4) years. During the development of the Study Plan, this resident doctor will acquire the necessary skills to perform the most frequent microsurgical procedures and will be able to handle the patients in an adequate manner.  

With the training of this specialist, we contribute to the increase of the coverage of the Neurosurgery Service in our country and to the improvement of the quality of the attention of the microsurgical patient
